I'd just like to add me and two others beat the mission with a thorough 60% dp by utilizing hard resses... over a hundred, I would say, on our 5 henchies, and slowly beating him down. We did absolutely everything wrong, double aggroed constantly, near-wiped a dozen times just getting there, and still managed it with proper kiting and careful attacks.

Not hard people, just don't stare into Impossible Odds and await death. The only 'counter' in our build was I had Signet of Midnight as my elite.

the later missions are supposed to be a challenge. If you can't beat it you're to noob and you need more practice.

I LOL'd.

If good players can beat the mission with henchmen and heroes, there's absolutely no reason to change the mission.

Ele = blind bot
Koss = wild blow bot

Cap all shrines and keep dual attunements on the ele, make sure he targets shiro only
Disable all koss's skills except like wild blow, if you are using sin hero, wild strike.

The shrines are easy to cap.

Like everybody else is saying, there are ways to counter it. If you can make it to Shiro and Lich with henchmen and heros you absolutely, positively can kill them both with henchmen and heros.

Wild blow, wild blow, wild blow. I can't say it enough. If you're not warrior class, bring Koss and give him wild blow. Like someone else said, disable all of his other skills if you have to. Tell him when to use it if you have to. Bring a necro hero set up as anti-melee, bring a mesmer set up as anti-melee. Bring a nuker with echo and meteor shower. In every single campaign alone, there is at least one skill to pretty much counter everything. It's a simple altering of builds.

Guild Wars is a game based on skill. Learn from your mistakes, figure out what you need to do, fix it and roll with it. I'm glad Anet finally made missions that challenged how you need to play the game.

Quests that have the red masters next to it should be the most difficult. Unlike other online games I can not get anywhere else untill I beat it which should it make it slightly more doable. If people wouldn't be so narrow minded just because *they* managed to get past it, I think they would understand what I am saying.

I'm not sure how that makes us narrow minded. Not all of us simply breezed through everything. We had to fail once or twice and alter the way we played or the builds we used or the henchmen/heros we took to be able to get through it. That doesn't mean it isn't doable, or hardly doable. It means you need to sit down and think, and maybe alter yourself a little bit.

I failed some things, over and over and over. Each time I altered my ways a little bit, and each time it got better until I could finally finish it. I'm sorry if you don't have the patience or will to do this, but that's hardly anybody's fault but your own. Anet shouldn't need to fluff things up for some people just because they're lazy or unwilling to work it out for themselves.

/unsigned... if you expect to complete a game without using skill at all you should just cheat in a single player game.

First off, if this wasn't an issue, then why is this thread even here? Clearly it is an issue.

Log into the Gate of Madness and watch the chat. Everyone is complaining. Why? Because this mission is rediculous.

For those of us who have families and lives we would like to go on and beat the game without days and days of digging on the net and asking every blooming body how to beat a mission. Only to get crap, tenebrous answers from the Uber Elite players who have beat the mission. Who incidently not all really have a clue for the most part.

If I see any of you offering to help others, get through the mission, in the game, by starting a group and actually helping, I will recant my drivel. But currently I see no one offering help in the game by starting groups. Also the little help on the web is just that, little help.

Also some of us haven't capped SV and finding a SV necro in Gate of Madness is rare.

I have finally beat this mission. I appreciate hard missions. But there are a few (not just in NightFall) that should have been nurfed a tad. Not by much mind you, just enough to give some of us, not so skilled and tactfull players a small glimmer of hope. Three days and 30 builds later, is just too much crap.

I have played all three chapters from start to finish and Henched most of it. I actually dreaded coming home after work and attempting this mission. To me that defeats the purpose of a game.

I agree, I generally look at what needs to be changed in my Build and Tactics when things go wrong rather than some people here with their "ZOMG My Cookie Cutter build wont cut it - NERF THE GAME ALREADY!!!" attitude.

They put new skills in for a reason, try getting off your backside and using some of them rather than being a bunch of babies

This thread isn't going anywhere as a suggestion. If you can't beat a mission, go make a thread asking how to beat it rather than asking for it to be made easier. Closed.
